Got the life. Bah. Thanks C,A,S. Acronyms aside - sorry for the lack of new posts, but I'm preparing for the post-millenium battle of Saigon as my buddy Alan arrives this weekend. Will try to keep you toasted...

Berei maar goed voor - ek kan net dink hoe hard die kuier gaan wees na...hoe lank het jy en Allan mekaar nie gesien nie?

Awe burg, I hope you gonna show me how to get to some of those pretty looking spots! I've left the North now so my journey has technically begun! Can't wait...

Wifey and I stayed in Mui Ne a couple years ago at the newly-opened Sinh Cafe Mui Ne (run by the tour operators on De Tham Street HCMC). We were on the way to Nha Trang but figured why go another 4 hours, when this will do?

Everything about it was nice (the beach was merely adequate with too much beach break), but they had an outstanding swimming pool with waterfall, excellent restaurant, and were sbuilding an Internet cafe when we were there. Cable TV is included with the normal Western fare, and we got an ocenfront room for $25/night.

One problem with Mui Ne is that all of those hundreds of "fishing boats" on the water are actually squid boats. So when you order any kind of calamari for dinner you'll get a heaping pile of the stuff cooked whatever way you ask. When you want a heaping platter of fish, though, you'll be lucky to get two little guys barely larger than baitfish grilled and arranged on the plate.
